Making QR codes people actually scan
- Contrast is king — dark code on a light background. Our generator warns you if your combination gets risky.
- Respect the quiet zone — the empty margin around the code is part of the spec; don't crop it or crowd it with graphics.
- Size for the distance — rule of thumb: scanning distance ÷ 10 = minimum code width. A poster read from 1 m needs a ~10 cm code.
- Give a reason — "Scan for the menu" outperforms a naked square every time.

Do these QR codes expire?
Never. The code is generated entirely in your browser and encodes your URL directly — there's no middleman service that can shut down or start charging you.
Can I print the QR code?
Yes — download the SVG for print (it scales to any size, from business card to billboard) and the PNG for screens and documents.
Why won't my QR code scan?
Usually contrast or size. Keep dark-on-light (never light-on-dark for the code itself), keep the quiet zone (white margin) intact, and print at least 2×2 cm for close-range scanning. Shorter URLs also make simpler, more scannable codes.
Is my URL sent to your server?
No. This generator runs 100% in your browser — we never see what you encode.
